Methadone Program Services

Methadone is a synthetic narcotic developed during World War II and is a medical form of treatment for narcotic addiction. The drug acts as a blocking agent affecting the opiate receptor site in the brain eliminating withdrawal symptoms associated with narcotic addiction.

INTAKE PROCEDURES
Intakes for the Methadone Program Services are conducted on Monday thru Friday from 5:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Enrollment commences at 5:30 a.m. on the scheduled day of admit. This procedure allows the counselor to gather personal, medical and substance abuse history. Staff will then make recommendations appropriate for the client's treatment. Evaluation of the individuals' health status is also a pre-admission requirement. Additional program information can be obtained by calling (702) 382-4226 - ext. 228.

PATIENT STAFFING
Staffings are conducted Monday thru Friday at 5:30 a.m. New enrollees are further evaluated to effect treatment planning. This process is a pre-treatment requisite. Each client also receives thorough orientation by trained medical staff including a physical examination.

TREATMENT SERVICES 60-DAY DETOX
AND 180-DAY DETOX

Detoxification regimen is a form of treatment designed to detoxify the individual from opiate-opioid substances. Abstinence from other drug usage and alcohol is required. Counseling sessions are conducted twice monthly in conjunction with attendance of self-help and other support groups.

COMPREHENSIVE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
The treatment episode is typically long-term in duration. Services are comprehensive in range with methadone utilized as an adjunct to other service provisions. Treatment planning is on-going and includes counseling, education, intervention and prevention activity. Goals are directed toward the achievement of behavioral, attitudinal and lifestyle changes accomplished through the development of effective coping skills and major lifestyle changes. Random urinalysis is both a therapeutic and medical requirement of the program.

HIV/AIDS RELATED SERVICES
On-site services include voluntary confidential HIV/AIDS testing, education, counseling and referral.

ACCREDITATION/LICENSURE
Program services are accredited by the State of Nevada Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Abuse, certified by the State Methadone Authority and licensed by the DEA. CARF Accreditation was awarded to Nevada Treatment Center for the Opioid Treatment Program (Adults).
